It’s hard to believe that a week has gone by………it felt like it had 7 Sunday’s. Life here has its own rhythm and it’s intoxicating.

On Saturday, May 5th, we had our first dinner party with 3 friends, it was a lovely evening of laughter, good food, wine, and coconut flan — do I need to say more.

On Sunday we took a small road trip to San Juan Cosola another lakeside community with houses perched on the hills with great views, but too far from local civilization.

We stopped at a boutique hotel for drinks and panoramic views of Lake Chapala. Afterward, we drove into the heart of the town a typical Mexican provincial town, for great Mexican food, the queso fundido with rajas and fresh corn tortillas should have been enough. We managed to also order entries, which we all devoured.

Yesterday morning David told me he felt at home……….I had scheduled the furniture cleaners over(recliners needed a good cleaning) and giving instructions to the gardener, the yard was a mess………..so you can change the boy’s geographical location but not its domesticity. David mentioned that the owners upon their return will not recognize their home.

In the mornings as I sit outside reading the news, I have made a new friend a Melodious Blackbird, that shares the crumbs from my toast, although he can get loud at times.

David is reading Michener’s Mexico.

I mentioned before this kitchen is short on resources – earlier on the week I tried cooking rice on the stove, it turn to mush, so the next day I purchased a rice cooker, life is back on balance.

Today we will be attending our first gentle yoga class.
