Thank you all who voted and the write-in votes from some of my colorful friend’s 🌈suggestions such as Fred and Ethel, Chip and Dale, JLo and Rod, Taylor, and Burton.

After careful consideration one of the names suggested came out as the winner.

I named them after a romantic couple from a legend at the time of the Aztecs – Popocatepetl and Iztaccíhuatl, but shortened their names to Popo and Izta (thank you, Bev) . . .

Their names two of the highest volcanoes in the western hemisphere: Popocatepetl and Iztaccíhuatl with all their majesty adorn Mexico City one of the world’s largest city.

And here were the tally results (thanks to one and all):

Lucy and Ricky 3
Frida and Diego 11
Cleopatra and Mark Anthony 1
Romeo and Juliet 1

On Sunday we saw “Nace una Estrella” ⭐️ or the fourth remake of a “Star is Born,” a tour de force for Bradley Cooper in his first directorial debut, and Lady Gaga – who has at least two Oscar-nominated songs. As I looked around the audience couldn’t help wonder if some of them saw the original 1937 version in its theatrical debut.

We hit the half-century mark on restaurants visited with the Food Containers, a mishmash of four independent shacks with a central eating area; with a variety of food offerings: Mexican, Japanese, American and Italian…..the sushi rolls were tasty as long as you remember to tell them no added Philly cream cheese (you heard right – Mexican sushi has cream cheese in the center – gross🤮)

The movers arrived on Wednesday – just 36 days in transit and 48 hours later the kitchen was up and running and all Christmas decorations stored. We still need to hang up artwork and go shopping for a new mattress for the 4 poster bed…..now with our belongings in place, this house feels like a home.

We are at the end of the rainy season and it has been a good one. The lake is at the highest level in over 15 years. Just to give you an idea with the picture attached – we parked under that tree early this summer, when we took our visiting friend, Eileen, for breakfast at nearby Poutine’s.

Received my first delivery from Amazon Mexico . . . 📦 . . . life is good!

The jacuzzi is now finished, can’t wait to soak in it 🌅 ; at that time the sun’s rays reflect beautifully off the lake surface.

Flower making is also over, this week were the sunflowers. I can’t wait to see all the colorful flowers, puffs and streamers adorn the Feria space …….wait a minute – we get to decorate the space and take it down ……oy vey.

Off to The Spotlight Club to listen to Sexteto, a Cuban jazz group, touring Mexico. Yes there is a rich cultural life in this little provincial town
