”The past explains how I got here, but the future is up to me – and I love to live life at full throttle.” Janice Dickinson
This week was lived at quarter throttle … binging on “Game of Thrones” (GOT 2 seasons left to watch) and contemplation sprinkled with back-to-back yoga and Sit ‘n Fit chair aerobics classes. And there was our weekly visit to the Tianguis thrown in.
Made a final dentist visit and now my Implants have been completed at last. Dr. Candy told me that they’ll feel like a new pair of heels at which I gave her a questionable look. She said, “ … well, a very good, uncomfortable pair of sneakers.” A bit of an adjustment was made that first day, but everything has fallen into place. I guess I can walk in high heels!
Contemplating that it was a year ago April 6th and David performed his final professional massage and officially retired the following day. He hasn’t looked back……..every once in a while I’ll get a quick neck massage or a head rub that feels more like a pat for being a good boy.
We were busy back then selecting what to pack for our trial three months living in Mexico. Besides scheduling and sorting bill payments and building issues and our friends asking us, “… are you sure? And …?” We were sure then and we are sure now.
We have a friend Lakeside that either David or I hear from several times throughout the week. Well, come Friday and not a peep heard out of her … fired off an email. Reading her response had me exhausted by the time I finished reading it. She had detailed each day’s activities; people say I’m always busy ~ this week I pass the crown…………..she was busier than a beehive colony.
I forgot to mention last week that we made a day trip to Guadalajarato “Fantasías Miguel” or the Mexican version of Michaels. It’s well organized, lit, and clean, plus friendly cashiers….hear that Michaels USA? David found a few things he needed for his one-of-a-kind card creations. Then a quick stopover at nearby Andares Mall and the Nespresso store … I was getting low on my morning jolt. A tasty lunch at Loló (octopus carpaccio and drinks) restaurant followed; picked up otras cosas and before hitting the parking lot a stop for Mamey ice cream……..lick, lick yum.
On the menu this week: Fish & Chips … a trip to the fishmonger – got a good fish recommendation of “corvina” … breaded in crushed pieces of Kellogg’s Crispix cereal (!) with a few spices added, resulting in a nice, spicy crunch. The French fries were frozen and baked in the oven, but the corn fresh and steamed – sweet as 🍯
