Mother Nature provides us with bountiful beauty; you just have to look. Springtime at Lakeside quickly heats up. Landscapes can change overnight and provide never-ending surprises. A morning walk delights, proving that hope springs eternal …

One of our prickly garden treasures, the ephemeral Easter lily cactus, suddenly surprised us with its transformation, providing a stunning bloom this week. The showy, pale pink flower’s lifespan is short, but sweet … lasting but a day. Had I blinked …

From a little fuzzball that suddenly shoots up, standing tall … then opening to this ethereal beauty. Waking up the following morning and it’s sadly drooping down, withered away. The whole process lasting just two short weeks beginning right at its namesake holiday ~ Easter!

But wait … there’s more … upon close inspection, another little flower fuzzball appears. Rejuvenation! The show must go on.
